Welcome Visitor!
For this month’s devlog, I, the Level Designer, am taking over. Flo, our PR guy has left the company pc unsupervised so now I get to spill the tea on all the biomes and secrets of our island.
Every one of our eight biomes has a unique look & feel, and is a home to a different assortment of bugs.
Flowery Meadows
If you have been following the development then you’re already familiar with the Flowery Meadows, the biggest biome on the island. Rolling hills, lush open fields with flower patches & a beautiful lake: Perfect conditions for all kinds of life.

Beach of New Beginnings
This is where you arrive at the beginning of your adventure, featuring the best waves & the best view on the island (according to Winston).

Rocky Fields
On the far side of the lake you can find a rougher & stonier extension of the flatlands.

Even in this biome, Mother Nature is adapting & thriving, and blessed us with the cute Rockroach.

Wailing Bay
That’s right, a second beach. This one is bigger & wilder than its northern cousin.
The warm, untouched sands are flanked by steep cliffs & house some unique bugs home to only this part of this island. It also holds the key to unlocking the mysterious past of one of the islanders…

But I can’t tell you more right now though, I have to finish this before the others come back so let’s move on to the:
Birch Woods & Spruce Forest

Two forests that sit side by side; at stark contrast to each other.
The warm, neglected Birch Forest with its low trees feels very lively & free,

whereas the solemn Spruce Forest with its tall and imposing trees (too tall for Loddie to see the crown), feels quiet and more protected.

Overgrown remnants of a failed attempt at mining the island’s central mountain can still be found in the Birch Woods, while the Spruce Forest has kept its untouched greatness, which is probably why one of our islanders decided to build their cabin over here.

Seaside Cliffs
In between these two forests, high above the ocean & shaped by strong winds, you find the most rugged part of the island, the Seaside Cliffs. The harsher climate & environment allow only the toughest bugs & islanders to persevere here.

Of course an island needs a lighthouse, ours overlooks…
Wait, there are two of them? There has to have been a miscommunication in the art department, that can’t be right. Who needs two lighthouses next to each other on th…

Shoot, I think I hear the team returning from lunch. I’ll just send this before they can stop me. Sadly I won’t have the time to tell you about the final three biomes. Just know that they look FANTAStYc 😉
What’s your favourite biome? Feel free to tell us 🙂
